
Islamabad: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a weak westerly wave is currently affecting the upper and central parts of the country leading to partly unstable weather conditions in some regions.
Hot and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of Pakistan today.
In upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, strong winds, thunderstorms, and scattered rainfall are expected at a few places. Areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, and Malakand are likely to receive rain with thunderstorm activity.
Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, and Haripur may also experience gusty winds, dust storms, and isolated rainfall.
Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to remain partly cloudy. In Punjab, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sialkot, and Narowal may witness rain with thunderstorms, while Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, and nearby areas could experience gusty winds and scattered showers. Other districts of Punjab will remain hot and dry.
In Sindh strong and dusty winds are expected during the afternoon in central and southern districts. Meanwhile most areas of Balochistan will continue to experience hot and dry weather conditions.
The PMD has advised citizens to stay alert in areas where thunderstorms, strong winds, and sudden weather changes are expected.
