4.5 magnitude earthquake jolts Gilgit-Baltistan

A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck various parts of Gilg­it-Baltistan, particularly the Chapursan Valley.

According to details, the earthquake had a depth of 28 kilometers underground. Its epicenter was located about 25 kilometers northwest of Sost.

The earthquake occurred at 6:48 PM Pakistan Standard Time.

Earlier, a day before powerful earthquake sent shockwaves across multiple regions of Pakistan, rattling cities and forcing residents to rush out of their homes in fear as strong tremors were felt in several areas.

Powerful earthquake tremors jolted Murree and its surrounding areas, sending waves of panic among residents.

In Chiniot and nearby localities tremors struck twice forcing people to flee their homes in fear while reciting prayers.

Sargodha and its adjoining areas were also shaken while a wide stretch of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Buner, Swat, Landi Kotal, and Mansehra felt the quake driving residents out into the open.

The impact extended further to South Waziristan’s Wana, as well as Mardan, Nowshera, Karak, and North Waziristan, where people rushed outdoors amid the sudden jolts.

Despite the widespread impact, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far, though authorities remain on high alert and continue to assess the situation.
