Zac Efron’s proud big-brother moments steal audience spotlight at DWTS

Zac Efron showed up in full big-brother mode during the Dancing with the Stars season 34 semifinals on Tuesday, where he cheered on his brother Dylan from the audience with their 5-year-old sister Olivia perched on his lap.
Dylan, 33, opened the night with a Prince-themed Tango alongside partner Daniella Karagach, set to the late icon’s 1984 hit I Would Die 4 U. As the camera swung to Zac in the crowd, the ballroom immediately erupted in applause.
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the performance “impressive,” though she pointed out “a little bit of a mix-up with the footwork,” reminding everyone, “the real issue is you have to feel this music. It’s Prince.”
Derek Hough highlighted Dylan’s “strong frame” and noted how much he’s grown throughout the competition, taking a moment to acknowledge Zac watching proudly from the audience. Bruno Tonioli added that the Tango was “sharp” and packed with “intensity.”
The pair earned a 27/30, and Zac was seen turning to his mom to confirm whether that was a solid score as she nodded.
For their second routine, a Cha Cha to Prince’s Kiss, Zac lifted Olivia into the air as she cheered for her big brother’s finish. Bruno labeled Dylan a “sexy beast,” while Derek praised “the details.” The dance scored 28/30.
Zac later boosted Dylan on Instagram, urging fans to vote. It wasn’t his first time in the DWTS audience — he previously attended in 2006 to support High School Musical costar Monique Coleman.
Earlier this season, during the Dedication Night, Dylan honoured his siblings with a performance to Zac and Zendaya’s Rewrite the Stars, saying Zac “always took care of me.” He added that he hopes to be “the best role model I can” for Olivia, who said, “I just like being with Dylan, he’s my best friend.”
