Why are Twitter/X links not working in Pakistan? Internet users asked questions

Users across Pakistan are facing a strange issue on Twitter (now called X) — external links just won’t open. Whether it’s a YouTube video, a news article, or a regular website, clicking on any shared link leads to an error or a blank page — unless you’re using a VPN.

The problem seems to be affecting only users in Pakistan, as there are no similar complaints from other countries.

Over the past few days, frustrated users have taken to social media to share their experiences. Many say the issue is consistent: links posted on X simply don’t work unless a VPN is turned on — and once it is, everything works perfectly.

According to TechJuice reports, they reached out to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for clarification. In response, the PTA denied any involvement and claimed there were no official restrictions on link access through X.

But despite the denial, users across the country are experiencing the same issue, making it hard to believe it’s just a coincidence or a technical glitch. With no clear answers, the situation is fueling speculation about possible censorship or behind-the-scenes restrictions.

For now, users are left guessing — and relying on VPNs to browse normally.
