Why Amy Schumer deleted all pre-weight loss social media posts?

Amy Schumer is clearing up the rumours surrounding her social media cleanup.

The comedian recently addressed the speculation that she deleted her old Instagram photos to hide her pre-weight loss appearance, explaining that the truth has nothing to do with how she looks.

“Hey media outlets I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight,” she wrote in a candid Instagram post on Nov. 12. “That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.”

The 44-year-old, who shares 6-year-old son Gene with husband Chris Fischer, said her focus has never been about numbers on a scale.

“I have been working to be pain free and I finally am,” she explained.

“My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal. I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son.”

Earlier this year, Schumer revealed that she had been diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome, a condition that occurs when the body produces too much cortisol.

The actress emphasized that her recent transformation wasn’t the result of a deliberate weight-loss plan.

“I didn’t purposefully go on a weight-loss journey,” she said. “That’s a fine thing to go on. But my focus has been on health. I’m sure my weight will always fluctuate.”

As for why she wiped her page, Schumer said it was simply an act of personal expression.

“Your Instagram is not your identity, it’s a curation of what you want the world to see,” she explained. “And I feel great, strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that.”

The Trainwreck star ended her post with an encouraging message to fans, writing, “Wishing you strength and self love on whatever path you’re on as long as it’s kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight race or religion peace!”

For Schumer, her refreshed feed isn’t about reinvention, it’s about celebrating health, confidence, and authenticity.
