UN Official calls on the world to end trade relations with Israel over Genocide concerns

A United Nations human rights expert, Francesca Albanese, has called on the world to end trade relations with Israel, accusing it of profiting from genocide. While presenting her latest report to the UN Human Rights Council, Albanese stated that Israel’s economy is built on occupation, violence, and military aggression, especially in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The report, titled “From Occupation Economy to Genocide Economy”, names over 60 international companies that are allegedly supporting Israeli settlements and military operations. Among these are major firms like Lockheed Martin, Leonardo, Elbit Systems, and Maersk. Tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and IBM were also mentioned for contributing to Israel’s surveillance systems.

Albanese emphasized that Israel’s military industry is the backbone of its economy. She said the ongoing war has led to a 200% rise in the Israeli stock market, generating $220 billion in profits, while Palestinians suffer losses.

She added, “Genocide has now become profitable. One nation gains while the other is destroyed.”

In a strong response, Ireland’s ambassador supported the UN report and announced a new law to ban the import of goods from occupied Palestinian areas.
