KARACHI: A young motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a trailer at Korangi Crossing area of Karachi on Wednesday.
In the Korangi Crossing area, a young motorcyclist was fatally struck by a trailer truck. According to local police, the victim was identified as Sohail. The driver of the truck was immediately apprehended by authorities and taken into custody, with a formal investigation now underway. The incident has drawn attention to the dangers faced by motorcyclists on major city thoroughfares, particularly in areas with heavy commercial traffic.
A second, equally tragic incident took place in Surjani Town’s Meer Khan Goth. In this case, a five-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle.
Unlike the first incident, the motorcyclist responsible for the child’s death managed to flee the scene, leaving the community in shock and grief. A search operation has been launched to locate and arrest the suspect. The local police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in their investigation.
Both accidents have sparked public concern and renewed calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved road infrastructure. Residents and local officials have been quoted expressing their sorrow and frustration, with one official stating, “These are not just accidents; they are a failure of our traffic management system. We must do more to protect our citizens, especially our children.”
The back-to-back tragedies serve as a somber reminder of the urgent need for a comprehensive road safety strategy in Karachi. Authorities are under pressure to not only bring the perpetrators to justice but also to implement measures that prevent such devastating losses in the future.
