MURREE:
The summer season in the scenic hill station of Murree, popularly known as the Queen of the Hills, is at its peak, attracting tourists from across the country seeking relief from the scorching heat.
Over the weekend, a surge in tourist numbers was witnessed as visitors flocked to Murree and the Galiyat region, setting up camp in large numbers.
With the onset of summer vacations in the plains of Pakistan, families and youth have been heading towards popular spots such as Mall Road, Kashmir Point, Pindi Point, Patriata, Bhurban, and other areas in Galiyat.
During the day, tourists are seen enjoying the cool weather and capturing memories at scenic locations like Bhurban, Patriata Resort, Ayubia, Nathia Gali, and nearby hills.
As evening sets in, crowds return to Mall Road for shopping, strolling, and soaking in the lively atmosphere.
The influx of visitors is positively impacting the local economy, boosting business for hotels, restaurants, and local vendors.
However, Murree continues to face persistent problems, including the lack of parking facilities, acute water shortages with residents struggling for even a drop, absence of a clear water management strategy, frequent unannounced power outages, and rising temperatures due to excessive tree cutting.
