Terror groups expose dark strategy of weaponizing youth

The dark reality of how terrorist organizations prey on young minds is gradually coming to light, exposing a calculated strategy of deception, manipulation, and violence.

Families of militants have broken their silence, revealing how extremist groups operate from remote mountainous hideouts, targeting vulnerable youth and grooming them for acts of terror.

These young men are often lured with false promises of education and a better future, only to be pulled into a brutal cycle of extremism.

One such account comes from the family of Ghulam Jan. According to his brother, Ghulam Jan left home with the intention of studying in Karachi.

Over time, all contact was lost. Despite desperate efforts to trace him, the family was eventually confronted with the devastating truth: Ghulam Jan had been radicalized and later identified among killed militants in a mountainous region.

A similar story was shared by the father of another militant, Asif, who admitted that his son had abandoned his education to join a terrorist organization.

He recalled making repeated pleas for his son to return home, but those appeals fell on deaf ears. Instead, Asif severed all ties with his family and went so far as to threaten his own father for attempting to stop him.

These testimonies paint a grim picture of the human cost of terrorism—one where manipulation replaces hope and violence destroys families.

The state’s stance remains clear and uncompromising: terrorism leads only to death for those who choose this path, and a lifetime of shame, grief, and regret for the families left behind.
