Teenage maid dies after brutal torture in Rahim Yar Khan
Rahim Yar Khan: A 13-year-old domestic worker reportedly died due to alleged torture in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Rahim Yar Khan.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Samo, the girl, Sumayya, was a resident of the Kotla Pathan locality. She had been working for the past three years at the house of a man named Shahram in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
DPO Irfan Samo stated that the girl died as a result of severe physical torture by the couple she was working for. After her death, her mother was informed of Sumayya’s “sudden demise,” and the body was handed over in a shroud during the night.
Upon receiving the body at home, the mother discovered visible signs of torture on her daughter’s body.
According to the DPO, the mother immediately informed the police. Acting swiftly, police conducted a raid and arrested the couple who were attempting to flee.
The DPO further added that the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination. The initial medical report revealed signs of brutal torture across the girl’s entire body, from head to toe.
