Taylor Swift’s longtime friends appear to have lost their loyalties amid her fued with Charli XCX.
Ed Sheeran and Cara Delevingne shocked fans over the weekend as they seemingly sided with the Brat hitmaker as she got bad blood with Swift, 35.
During the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, Delevingne and the Perfect singer cosied up for a group photo with Charli.
A photo of the trio posing with actress Rachel Sennott at Saturday’s event was shared by the the 33-year-old model and actress in an Instagram post on Wednesday, October 22.
“@theacademy gala dump! Scroll through to reveal the truth behind the glitz and glamour,” she captioned the carousel, documenting the event.
Swifties were quick to react after spotting the 14-time Grammy winner’s close pals posing with her rival.
One fan wrote bluntly, “With friends like you, who needs enemies?” while another commented, “They don’t make loyalty like they used to.”
Additionally, it wasn’t just the Cruel Summer chart topper who fans felt was betrayed, her best friend Selena Gomez also get caught in the mix.
To fans’ disappointment, the Suicide Squad actress was seen posing with a bunch of models including Eva Longoria, Kendall Jenner, and Hailey Bieber, prompting comments like, “Girl, why are you friends with those bullies?”
[image]Another fan added, “I thought Cara was in Selena’s circle,” referencing Delevingne’s close friendship with her Only Murders in the Building co-star.
Selena and Hailey’s long-rumoured tensions are well-known to the public, largely because of their connection with Justin Bieber.
The Calm Down songstress famously dated the Baby hitmaker on and off for nearly a decade before he married the Rhode founder in 2018.
Since then, Selenators and Hailey’s fans have continued trading jabs and infidelity accusations, despite both women publicly denying any ongoing feud.
Now, back to Swift’s side. Her tensions with the British singer-songwriter stemmed from when the latter appeared to take a jab at the Eras tour superstar in her 2024 hit Sympathy Is a Knife, where she sings about someone who “taps [her] insecurities.”
In what fans believe was a response, Travis Kelce’s fiance seemingly clapped back with her own track Actually Romantic from her Life of a Showgirl album, released earlier this month.
In the song, she compares Charli to a “toy chihuahua barking at me from a tiny purse.”
However, it now seems that Swift’s once tightly knit circle may be unwinding with first Jack Antonoff and now Sheeran and Delevingne all recently seen interacting with the 33-year-old singer.
For the unversed, the three-time Grammy winner has been friends with Delevingne for years, with the duo even hanging out at June’s Glastonbury Festival.
As for Delevingne, she met Swift in 2013 and briefly lived with the songwriter years later during a breakup.
Meanwhile, Swift and Sheeran have been close since 2012, but Daily Mail reported last week that their friendship is currently “strained.”
