Small plane crash in Austria kills 4
Vienna: A small plane crashed in the Austrian Alps on Saturday, resulting in the tragic deaths of all four individuals on board.
The aircraft, which had departed from Oberschleissheim near Munich, Germany, was en route for a round-trip flight when the accident occurred.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. local time near Wald im Pinzgau in Salzburg province. Authorities reported that the plane apparently burst into flames upon impact, igniting a fire that spread to the surrounding woods.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, which was located in rugged terrain east of Innsbruck near the town of Krimml.
Police confirmed that three men and one woman were killed in the incident. Initial reports suggest the victims were likely German nationals, though their identities and ages have not yet been released.
Officials indicated that weather conditions at the time were clear and favorable, making the crash particularly puzzling. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
