Sindh Government’s stern crackdown spurs 38 dacoits to surrender in Kashmore and Sukkur

Karachi: Sindh’s unwavering crackdown on organized crime is yielding tangible results, as the provincial government’s assertive surrender policy compels even the most notorious dacoits to lay down arms.

In a decisive show of state authority, 38 high-profile criminals in Kashmore and Sukkur have voluntarily surrendered, underscoring the effectiveness of ongoing operations in the lawless katcha regions and signaling a decisive consolidation of the state’s writ.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar confirmed that 26 wanted dacoits in Kashmore district surrendered to law enforcement authorities under this policy, following 12 others who had similarly submitted themselves in Sukkur just a day earlier.

These developments highlight the intense pressure criminal elements face amid the government’s mega operations, while the writ of the state continues to strengthen in previously ungoverned territories.

“The joint operations led by the police, Sindh Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies will persist with full vigour until law and order is fully restored and criminal networks are dismantled,” asserted Home Minister Lanjar. “This operation is designed to become faster, more decisive, and increasingly effective over time.”

Issuing a direct warning to criminal elements, he added:
“I urge the dacoits to surrender voluntarily and embrace peace rather than face the full force of our operations. The Sindh Government has opened the path to reform; those who comply will be welcomed. Act now, or regret later.”

Special attention continues to be focused on the tri-junction border and katcha areas, where the elimination of dacoits, their hideouts, and facilitators is inevitable. Lanjar emphasized that the government remains steadfast in its objective to eradicate crime completely and ensure long-lasting peace across the province.
