Shahid Afridi’s taunt at Indian Cricketers grabs attention online

The World Championship of Legends is currently underway in the United Kingdom, and both Pakistan and India have qualified for the semi-finals. Earlier, Indian cricketers had refused to play against Pakistan in the tournament. Irfan Pathan openly stated that there was no harm in boycotting Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Indian politician Arvind Sawant also urged India to avoid playing cricket with Pakistan, citing ongoing tensions between the two countries.

In response to the Indian team’s boycott, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi took a jibe at the Indian team during a media talk at a local restaurant in Birmingham.

Talking about it, Shahid Afridi said, “Today, Pakistan reached the semi-finals. Look at our age — we’re playing a semi-final at this age! Now, India will have to play against us, whether they want to or not. Don’t know with what face they’ll play us, but they will — Pata nahi kis moonh se India hamare saath khele ga, magar khele ga zaroor.” Here is the link to the video:

Shahid Afridi is earning praise from fans for delivering a strong response to India, who had earlier boasted about not playing against Pakistan, but eventually ended up facing them in the semi-final. One fan wrote, “Our fighter jet Shahid Afridi downed 5 Rafale Jets.” Another commented, “Wow, this was satisfying—now the Pakistani team should refuse to shake hands with the Indian players on the ground.” A third added, “This was a perfect message to India, and it needs to be heard loud and clear.”
