LAHORE: Pakistan’s T20 elite players are set to make waves in the Big Bash League (BBL) 15 Draft, with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan officially entering the pool.
With no Pakistan international commitments between November and February, the quartet is expected to be available for the full season—making them top priorities for all eight franchises. Leading the charge is Shaheen Afridi, the left-arm pace sensation expected to be one of the first picks. At 25, with a growing international reputation and success in leagues like PSL and The Hundred, Afridi could well land at Brisbane Heat, who hold the No. 1 pick.
Also in the mix is Mohammad Rizwan, whose consistent top-order performances and leadership skills make him a reliable addition. Haris Rauf, returning to the league where he first rose to prominence with the Melbourne Stars, and all-rounder Shadab Khan, with previous BBL stints and a reputation as a T20 globetrotter, complete a formidable group of Pakistani talent.
In the women’s draft, Sana Mir stands out as Pakistan’s sole representative. The young fast-bowling all-rounder, having impressed on the international stage, will be seeking her first WBBL franchise and a chance to showcase her skills in one of the game’s most competitive women’s leagues.
