
RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff and the Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorate and pay heartfelt tribute to Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, honoring his unparalleled courage, unwavering dedication, and supreme sacrifice in the defence of the motherland during the Kargil conflict.
“On this day in year 1999, Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed demonstrated extraordinary valour by fearlessly repelling enemy attacks and defended his post despite sustaining critical injuries. Refusing evacuation, he continued to fight until he embraced martyrdom in the line of duty,” said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
“The Armed Forces of Pakistan and the nation, remember his sacrifice with immense respect and gratitude. His legacy remains a beacon of inspiration for present and future generations of Pakistan Armed Forces. We reaffirm our resolve to uphold the sacred trust of the martyrs and continue the Shuhada-e-Pakistan mission of defending the motherland with courage, dedication, and honour,” it further said.
Today marks the 26th martyrdom anniversary of Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed, recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military gallantry award.
On this solemn occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid rich tribute to the heroic sacrifice of Havaldar Lalak Jan.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider in Ghizer to mark his 26th martyrdom anniversary.
Commander Force Command Northern Areas, Major General Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. A smartly turned-out contingent presented a salute at the grave of the national hero, honoring his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
