Security forces kill two militants after Mastung attack, says Balochistan govt

A 16-year-old boy was killed and at least seven civillians were injured on Tuesday in a terrorist attack targeting a bank, tehsil office and other administrative buildings in Mastung District of Balochistan. 

At least two suspected terrorists were killed and three others were injured as the security forces immediately sprung into action. 

According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan launched an armed attack on a bank, the district tehsil office and other administrative buildings. 

Responding to the attack, security forces, including the Frontier Corps (FC), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Levies cordoned off the site and surrounded the terrorists, killing at least two militants and injuring three others in the exchange of fire. 

 

The Balochistan government confirmed that a comprehensive clearance operation is currently underway to neutralise remaining threats. “The swift response by security forces effectively prevented further casualties,” wrote the spokesperson on X. 

He added that operations are being conducted on an intelligence basis to ensure the arrest of remaining militants and safeguard civilian life.

Efforts are also underway to locate and apprehend those facilitating the attackers.
