Security forces kill 11 terrorists in South Waziristan IBO: ISPR

Two soldiers, including a major, were martyred while 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan’s Sararogha area on Tuesday, the military’s media wing reported.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted following confirmed reports of the presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.

Troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideout, resulting in the killing of eleven terrorist and injuries to seven others, the statement said.

During the intense exchange of fire, Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah, 37, a resident of Chakwal, and Lance Naik Jibran Ullah, 27, from Bannu, embraced martyrdom. Major Moiz was leading the operation and had earned a reputation for his courage in previous counterterrorism operations, the ISPR stated.

It added that a sanitisation operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats.

The military reiterated its commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country, saying, “Such sacrifices of our brave men only strengthen our resolve to root out the menace of terrorism, especially those supported from abroad.”
