Weather update: Scattered rains expected across Pakistan

Scattered rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and some other areas of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says a seasonal low is present over northwest Balochistan, while monsoon winds are entering the upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting the same region.

Because of these conditions, most parts of Pakistan are likely to experience humid weather on Thursday night and Friday. However, scattered rain is likely in the twin cities, northeast Punjab, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature on Friday is expected to be between 33°C and 35°C, and between 35°C and 37°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Rawalpindi is also expected to see similar temperatures — between 33°C and 35°C on Friday, and between 35°C and 37°C over the weekend.

In the last 24 hours, humid weather was felt in most parts of the country, although rain did fall in northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
