Saudi commander praises Pakistan Army’s role in regional peace during meeting with Field Marshal Munir

Field Marshal Munir expresses satisfaction over ‘robust defence collaboration’, underscores need for cooperation

Commander Royal Saudi Land Forces Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and “appreciated the positive role played by Pakistan in regional peace and stability” during meeting Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and prospects for expanding bilateral defence cooperation.

The two commanders reiterated their commitment to strengthening what ISPR described as “longstanding and brotherly relations” between the armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Field Marshal Munir expressed satisfaction over the “robust defence collaboration” between the two militaries and underscored the need for continued cooperation in training, capacity building and intelligence sharing, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Commander Bahrain National Guard General Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa met Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during a visit to General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to ISPR, the two leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security and opportunities to enhance bilateral defence cooperation. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expanding the ongoing military collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Bahraini commander praised the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged “Pakistan’s positive role in regional peace and stability,” ISPR stated.

Field Marshal Munir highlighted the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, saying Pakistan would “continue to cooperate with Bahrain in all spheres.”
