Sarwat Gilani alleges unprofessionalism, declines role in JPNA 3

Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani has accused the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani production team of unprofessionalism, leading her to refuse a role in the third film. Having appeared in the first two installments, she expressed disappointment over how she was treated behind the scenes, which influenced her decision to step away.

In a recent interview on a popular YouTube show, Gilani candidly shared, “These days, I am running away from Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3. I have great respect for Nadeem Baig, and I genuinely like the team, including Humayun Saeed and Ahmed Ali Butt, but I don’t want to reprise the role of Gul.”

She added, “When you want to collaborate with a team again after six years, the relationship needs to be nurtured properly, but that didn’t happen here.”

The actress further detailed an incident during the promotional campaign of JPNA 2, where she felt ignored and sidelined. “During the promotions, the team behaved unprofessionally. They were traveling to London; I arranged my own travel, but they never responded or confirmed anything with me. It felt as if I was used for the work and then discarded.”

Addressing her refusal to return for JPNA 3, Gilani explained, “I have refused to be part of the third film because my role was reduced in previous projects. My character was cut from the second half of the first film, and the same happened in the second. Not giving an actor their deserved role is unfair. I cannot compromise on my dignity. One can be fooled once, but not repeatedly.”

Despite her grievances, Gilani maintained respect for the film’s director and producer, concluding, “I have love and respect for Nadeem Baig and Humayun Saeed, but I will no longer compromise my self-respect and dignity.”
