Rihanna shooting suspect previously targeted Billie Eilish before arrest

Ortiz has been arrested in connection with the shooting at Rihanna’s residence with her bail set at $10.225 million

Court documents show that the woman accused of shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home had previously taken legal action against singer Billie Eilish weeks before the alleged attack.

Ivanna Ortiz, 35, who now faces an attempted murder charge linked to the shooting incident, had earlier filed a lawsuit concerning a Billie Eilish concert held in Orlando, Florida, in October. Ortiz was living in the city at the time.

In the filing, Ortiz claimed the concert was causing her “immediate and irreparable harm” due to noise and traffic around the venue. The lawsuit also named Live Nation, the concert promotion company that has worked with both Eilish and Rihanna.

Court records indicate Ortiz sought a temporary injunction to stop the concert from going ahead. She also questioned whether the required noise waivers had been filed and requested damages estimated between $75,000 and $100,000.

The judge dismissed the request, ruling that the emergency petition had been filed prematurely. The concert proceeded as scheduled.

Ortiz has since been arrested in connection with the shooting at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills residence and is currently being held on bail set at $10.225 million. Following the incident, Rihanna and members of her family are believed to have left the property.

Investigators have also reviewed several social media posts and online videos attributed to Ortiz which contain hostile remarks about the singer. In one clip shared on her YouTube channel, Ortiz said, “Got Rihanna over there all jealous … because how am I … how am I … because her face is the devil. Rihanna’s face is the devil.”

Additional posts on social media platforms referenced Rihanna directly and included unverified allegations about the singer. In one Facebook post dated February 23, Ortiz wrote, “@badgalriri — Are you there? ’Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.”

There is no evidence supporting the claims made in the post.

Authorities continue to investigate the shooting incident and Ortiz’s online activity as part of the case.
