
Rangers finalize comprehensive security plan for Muharram
KARACHI:A high-level security meeting was convened at the Pakistan Rangers Sindh headquarters under the chairmanship of Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Major General Muhammad Shamraiz, to review the law and order situation in Karachi, with a special focus on security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
Participants conducted a comprehensive review of the security plan for Muharram processions and gatherings. The plan was formally approved during the session. It was decided to intensify joint flag marches and snap checking operations by Rangers and Police throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
Emphasis was laid on ensuring foolproof security for religious gatherings, majalis, and processions of all sects.
DG Rangers directed that inter-agency coordination and intelligence sharing be strengthened to preempt any potential threat, and also ordered strict checking at all interprovincial entry and exit points of Sindh.
The meeting also concluded that the approved code of conduct for Muharram would be strictly enforced.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Commissioner Karachi, Additional IGP- Karachi, Additional IGP – Special Branch, Joint DG Intelligence Bureau, DIGPs from CTD, CIA, Special Branch, West, South, East, Traffic, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana, as well as senior representatives from the Home Department, Rangers, Police, and intelligence agencies.
