KARACHI: A video circulating on social media showing a woman jumping off a moving train with a child has drawn strong public attention, prompting an official response from railway authorities in Karachi.
According to the authorities, the incident is believed to have occurred near Kala Pul, Karachi, where the train was reportedly moving at a very slow speed.
“From the footage, it appears the woman intentionally prepared to disembark,” officials said, adding that the video suggests she was already standing near the door, indicating premeditated action rather than an accident.
The railway authorities confirmed they are looking into the matter further to ensure passenger safety and understand the context of the incident.
Railway authorities have confirmed that the woman and child seen in a viral video jumping off a moving train near Kala Pul, Karachi, are safe and unharmed.
According to officials, the woman leapt off the train as its speed decreased, and both stood up unassisted after hitting the ground. “Fortunately, no injuries were reported,” the officials said.
Terming the incident regrettable, officials stressed it would be incorrect to label it as an “accident” since the woman appeared to have intentionally disembarked.
They warned that sharing the video without proper context could lead to public confusion and misinformation.
Pakistan Railways has appealed to all passengers not to attempt disembarking from moving trains, emphasizing that such actions are extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.
