
LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved a lifetime pension for the widows of government employees.
During the 28th meeting of the provincial cabinet, a cash reward of Rs50,000 was also announced for rescue personnel who served during flood duty.
The cabinet further approved the formal conduct of assessments for Grade 5 students and board examinations for Grade 8 students across the province.
Additionally, the chief minister directed the establishment of structured prison industries aimed at vocational training and rehabilitation of inmates.
The Punjab cabinet also approved an online application for the establishment of petrol pumps.
The meeting agreed to the market hiring proposal for the deployment of the Vice -Chancellor and approved at least 80 % of the marks for the Vice Chancellor.
The cabinet approved the Provincial Disaster Management Authority(PDMA) to spend Rs 2.6 billion for flood victims.
