Crown princess Mette-Marit, wife of future king, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway is to go under the knife for a rare pulmonary fibrosis issue and will receive a lung transplant.
What is pertinent to mention, according to Hello! is that the princess was first diagnosed back in 2018 and since then she’s restricted the number of engagements she undertakes, just last October she completely went under the radar for pulmonary rehab.
Now finally the palace has spoken out and said, “during the autumn, a number of tests have been carried out that show a clear worsening of the Crown Princess’ health. The physicians at Rikshospitalet University Hospital have therefore started the process towards an evaluation for potential lung transplant surgery.”
While speaking to the same outlet a Professor and Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Rikshospitalet University Hospital, named Are Martin Holm addressed the upcoming surgery and said, “e are reaching the point where a lung transplant will be necessary, and we are undertaking the necessary preparations to ensure that this will be possible when the time comes. At present, no decision has been taken as to when the Crown Princess will be placed on the lung transplant waiting list.”
