Prince William, the Prince of Wales is said to be furious amid speculations that Netflix could turn Andrew Mountbatten-Scandal into new television drama.
Insiders revealed that Netflix, Amazon and Disney are racing to develop series depicting Andrew’s fall.
A source told Closer Magazine, “The Crown as a series has ended but the name will live on. There have been advanced talks about doing a limited series, under The Crown banner, about the Andrew saga which is as dramatic, if not more dramatic, than anything shown in the original series which included episodes on the abdication and the death of Diana.”
They went on to add, “There’s a real sense of ‘here we go again’ which has really triggered William, especially as it seems Netflix are the ones leading the way to put this movie or TV series together.”
“Everyone knows how much William despises anyone who seeks to profit off his family’s lowest points and stretch historical facts to a sordid and totally disproportionate degree,” the insider revealed. “It happened with The Crown and now comes yet another attack that’ll cause widespread embarrassment, especially if this TV special focuses on the alleged royal cover-up involving Andrew’s misdeeds.”
Sources believe that this is “the last thing” Prince William wants. He is reportedly at the “end of his rope right now” noting that “he wasn’t kidding when he made those comments about not feeling calm. For the people who know him it was actually a massive understatement.”
“The sheer volume of stress and knock-on damage to deal with is totally out of hand, it’s on a scale that he and others at the top of the Firm can scarcely believe. William is right at the centre of everything and pulling on all his inner strength to keep everyone calm and focused around him as well as himself,” the source said.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s crisis have reportedly engulfed the entire royal family and it is said to be taking up so much of the Prince of Wales’ energy. “The last thing he needs is yet more nonsense involving Netflix,” the source said.
