
President Zardari Meets Masoud Pezeshkian, Commit to Strengthen Pakistan-Iran Cooperation
Pakistan and Iran have agreed to work together on global affairs, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. This understanding was reached during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.
President Zardari warmly welcomed his Iranian counterpart and emphasized the importance of expanding mutual cooperation between the two countries. Both leaders stressed the need to enhance ties in various sectors of mutual interest and benefit.
They held detailed discussions on regional and international issues. President Zardari stated that Pakistan and Iran enjoy brotherly relations based on shared religion, culture, and mutual respect. He affirmed that both countries would continue working together for a peaceful and prosperous future in the region.
President Zardari strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Iran and praised the courage and unity of the Iranian nation during the 12-day conflict.
President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in de-escalating tensions and promoting peaceful conflict resolution. Both leaders emphasized the importance of coordinated diplomatic efforts to prevent conflicts and ensure regional peace and stability.
President Zardari also lauded Iran’s principled stance on regional matters and thanked Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for his consistent support against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
In response, the Iranian President expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s continued cooperation and Tehran’s willingness to strengthen regional collaboration.
