LAHORE:
Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Thursday emphasised that the responsibility of initiating political dialogue rests not only with politicians but with all state institutions, urging each to play its due role in the national interest.
Speaking to the media after visiting the residence of PTI leader Hammad Azhar to offer condolences on the passing of his father, former Punjab governor Mian Muhammad Azhar, Elahi paid tribute to the late leader, calling him “a great politician” known for his honesty and integrity.
“We shared a friendship that spanned over 30 years. Mian Azhar is no longer with us, but his services to the country and the nation will always be remembered,” Elahi said.
In response to a question, the PTI Central President reiterated that political dialogue is not solely the duty of political parties.
