
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and stability, stating that the country will continue to play a sincere role as a mediator during a meeting with a high-level Iranian delegation.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Islamic Consultative Assembly, and assisted by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Discussions focused on the evolving regional and global security situation. The prime minister appreciated the participation of the Iranian delegation in the Islamabad talks and emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play a proactive and sincere mediatory role to achieve meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global peace and stability, adding that efforts will be intensified to ensure tangible progress.
