
Meeting in Prime Minister House
Islamabad: EU Ambassador Dr Riina Kionka paid a farewell visit to PM Shehbaz Sharif this morning at PM House.
Congratulating the EU Ambassador on successfully completing her tenure in Pakistan, the Prime Minister thanked her for her significant role in strengthening Pakistan-EU relations. He appreciated her efforts in ensuring EU assistance during the 2022 floods in Pakistan.
he highlighted the importance of the European Union as one of Pakistan’s major trading partners and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the GSP Plus scheme, which proved mutually beneficial for both parties. He also conveyed good wishes to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and expressed his anticipation of meeting her in the coming days.
The meeting also discussed key issues, including political developments in Pakistan and the overall bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the European Union.
The EU Ambassador expressed gratitude for the cooperation received during her stay in Pakistan and affirmed the EU’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan.
Thanking the Prime Minister for his good wishes, she stated that she will continue to promote strong relations between Pakistan and the European Union in her upcoming assignment in Brussels.
