
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to develop a comprehensive plan for the restructuring of its Digital Wing and set clear timelines for achieving its objectives.
He presided over a high-level review meeting on reforms within the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and expressed satisfaction over the ongoing efforts to improve the tax system.
The Prime Minister termed the reforms encouraging, highlighting their role in modernizing the tax structure.
He emphasized the need for aligning the system with contemporary requirements and ensuring practical steps for sustainable implementation.
“The achievement of targets is commendable, but further dedication and effort are needed,” the Prime Minister stated. He acknowledged that FBR’s digitization has played a key role in meeting reform goals.
He further directed that digitization efforts be converted into a permanent and sustainable system. To curb the informal economy, the Prime Minister called for stronger enforcement measures.
