ISLAMABAD: Prices of petroleum products are expected to decrease across Pakistan from September 1, offering limited relief to consumers.
According to official estimates, the price of petrol may be reduced by Rs0.61 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) could see a cut of up to Rs3.13 per litre.
Similarly, the price of kerosene oil is expected to drop by Rs1.57 per litre, and light diesel oil by Rs2.61 per litre.
The anticipated adjustment comes at a time when Punjab is facing devastating floods caused by cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods, with spillover effects expected in Sindh as well.
The main reason for this expected reduction is a minor decrease in international oil prices. The new price for petrol could be set at Rs. 264.00 per liter (down from Rs. 264.61), high-speed diesel at Rs. 269.86 per liter (down from Rs. 272.99), kerosene oil at Rs. 176.70 per liter, and light diesel oil at Rs. 159.55 per liter.
