Pakistan out of Asian Individual Squash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan squash Friday touched a new low as none of the players have even made it to the semi-finals of the Asian Individual Squash Championship being played in Malaysia.

Pakistan’s last survival Nasir Iqbal lost his quarter-final against Hong Kong’s Henry Leung who beat Nasir 11-7, 7-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7.

Earlier, Noor Zaman lost to a totally new Malaysian lad Chuah ranked around 200 in the world in the pre-quarters.

Even the championship semi-finals will have no Pakistan representation now.

Besides top seed Qatar player Abdullah Al Tamimi, two Hong Kong players and one Indian have made it to the semi-finals in the men’s individual category.

The Individual Championship will be followed by doubles event.
