Pakistan condemns US strikes on Iran, warns of regional fallout

Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned the United States’ airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear installations, describing the attacks  which follow a series of Israeli strikes as deeply reprehensible. The government expressed grave concern over the potential escalation of tensions in the region.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the strikes on Iranian nuclear sites constitute a blatant violation of international legal norms. He emphasized that Iran, as a sovereign nation, has the legitimate right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter.

“The unprecedented rise in tensions and violence resulting from continued aggression against Iran is extremely alarming,” he stated, warning that further escalation could have serious consequences not just for the region, but for global stability.

Shafqat Ali Khan highlighted the urgent need to protect civilian lives and infrastructure, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities. He urged all parties to fully comply with international law, particularly international humanitarian law.

Concluding his remarks, the spokesperson reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy, in accordance with the UN Charter, remain the only viable and sustainable solutions to the crisis.
