Pakistan charts path to digital governance, institutional excellence

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has released the Pakistan Reforms Report 2026, highlighting extensive reforms in governance, digital infrastructure, social development, and economic growth across the country.

The report provides a comprehensive overview of initiatives undertaken during 2025 to establish sustainable institutional frameworks and promote digitalization, transparency, and skill development.

Institutional and Digital Governance Reforms

Institutional reforms prioritized long-term sustainable systems over temporary solutions.

Implementation of the Pakistan Digital Nation Act 2025 established a national framework for the digital economy.

The Pakistan Digital Authority and National Digital Commission were established to strengthen digital governance.

The Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Act 2025 enhanced online protection and digital accountability.

Skill Tech Pakistan placed 2,700 interns in practical training programs and issued 12,600 professional certifications.

The National ICT Internship Program linked over 1,000 graduates with industry opportunities.

20 e-Rozgar Centers were set up nationwide to promote freelancing and digital entrepreneurship.

Over 7,000 government officials were trained under the Google Career Certificates Program, while the Huawei ICT Program trained 100,000 youth in advanced digital skills.
