Pakistan Army delivers strongly response to Afghan’s unprovoked firing in Kurram
Unprovoked firing was carried out by Afghan Taliban and Fitna-ul-Khawarij elements in the Kurram district, to which the Pakistan Army responded with a strong and effective counter-offensive.
According to security sources, the Pakistan Army’s counterattack caused major damage to Taliban positions. Several posts caught fire, tanks were destroyed, and Taliban fighters were forced to abandon their positions and flee.
Security officials also confirmed that operations are continuing against terrorist hideouts in the area. Eyewitnesses reported that civilians from both sides of the border have started moving away due to rising tensions.
It is important to note that on the night of October 11, unprovoked firing was also carried out from the Afghan side of the border, to which the Pakistan Army responded with force.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), credible intelligence reports indicate that more than 200 Indian-backed Khawarij were killed in the clashes, with many others wounded. The ISPR added that during the counteroffensive, Taliban posts, camps, headquarters, and other terrorist infrastructure were completely destroyed.
