Pak-American entrepreneur secures $600M for AI vehicle startup applied intuition
San Francisco: Pak-American entrepreneur Qasar Younis has raised $600M for AI-driven startup Applied Intuition, boosting its valuation to $15Bn, Bloomberg.
Founded in 2017, Applied Intuition collaborates with 18 of the world’s leading car manufacturers, including Toyota and Volkswagen, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance vehicle safety and automation.
The company’s innovative technology aims to embed advanced AI features into a wide range of machines—from cars and drones to industrial equipment.
Younis, born in Lala Musa in Pakistan’s Gujrat District, emigrated with his family to the United States in 1988. He attributes his resilience and entrepreneurial spirit to his humble beginnings in Pakistan, which have fueled his drive to push the boundaries of AI in transportation.
“The company’s initials ‘AI’ are no coincidence,” Younis told Bloomberg, emphasizing the firm’s core focus. He revealed that the recent funding will support efforts to integrate AI into “every moving machine,” including vehicles, drones, and industrial machinery.
Younis also indicated that a public listing is on the horizon, with the funding round likely serving as a final step before an initial public offering (IPO), subject to market conditions.
The role of AI in automobiles was a prominent topic at CES Las Vegas earlier this year, where industry leaders from Rivian, Google, and Qualcomm discussed AI’s rapid evolution and its potential to revolutionize in-car experiences, making driving more conversational and intuitive.
As AI continues to redefine mobility, Younis’s leadership and vision position Applied Intuition at the forefront of this technological transformation, promising to reshape how the world moves in the coming years.
