Taryn Manning has responded publicly after a video showing an altercation with Holly Hartman circulated widely online, offering her account of the events and the history between them.
The footage, first shared by TMZ on March 30, shows a tense exchange in which Manning appears visibly upset and threatens to call the police, alleging that Hartman was staying in her space without permission.
Following the video’s spread, Manning posted a statement on March 31, addressing the incident and urging viewers to consider the broader context.
“I know that violence is never, ever, ever OK,” she said, while emphasising that the clip did not capture the full sequence of events. She described the situation as more complex than it appeared in the brief footage.
Manning also addressed speculation about her relationship with Hartman, stating that they are not partners or family members. She explained that she has known Hartman for nearly two decades and had previously tried to support her during difficult periods, including allowing her to stay in an office space due to a lack of housing.
In her statement, Manning alleged that Hartman, along with another individual, caused damage to her property, including breaking a car windshield and cutting tyres. She characterised the incident as “the most aggressive, violent attack,” and said the confrontation seen in the video followed a series of ongoing issues.
The situation has also drawn renewed attention to their past legal history. In 2012, Manning was arrested in New York City following an altercation involving Hartman and faced misdemeanour charges related to assault and choking. The case did not proceed after Hartman declined to continue, and it was later dismissed in 2016.
Further legal developments followed in 2020 when Hartman sought a restraining order against Manning, which was denied. The resurfacing of these events has added further scrutiny to the current incident, which remains unresolved beyond the viral clip.
