‘One Piece’ season 2 trailer hints at expanded Nico Robin role amid changes

The first trailer for Netflix’s One Piece season 2 offers a brief but telling glimpse of Nico Robin’s live-action debut, played by Lera Abova.
Known in this arc as Miss All Sunday, Robin is a key future Straw Hat and one of the Arabasta saga’s most important characters.
Although her screen time in the teaser is short, it appears Netflix will give Robin a more significant presence in season 2 than in Eiichiro Oda’s original storyline. The trailer shows her using the Hana Hana no Mi ability to open a door — a scene suggesting she will appear in multiple locations, rather than solely on the Going Merry, where her first manga meeting with the Straw Hats takes place.
With the season covering events up to Drum Island, Robin’s expanded role could mean the show introduces her connections to Crocodile and Baroque Works earlier than expected, possibly setting up key events for season 3. Robin is seen wearing her white Arabasta outfit, reinforcing speculation that Netflix is adjusting the sequence of events.
While Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello, is not expected to face Luffy directly until season 3, season 2 will still require a central antagonist. Smoker is a likely candidate, but Miss All Sunday could take a more prominent villain role.
Whether Robin serves as the main threat or a shadow player, season 2 looks set to make her a standout presence.
