
New Zealand defeated Pakistan with 6-2 in FIH Men’s Hockey Nations Cup
The final match of the Hockey Nations Cup was held at the National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Pakistan faced New Zealand.
From the beginning, Pakistan struggled, and by the end of the first quarter, New Zealand had scored 2 goals. By the end of the second quarter, New Zealand extended their lead to 5-0, while no Pakistani player managed to score.
The third quarter started off better for Pakistan, with Hayat Zakariya scoring a brilliant goal in the sixth minute. Pakistani players launched a series of attacks afterward, but New Zealand’s defense remained solid.
In the fourth quarter, Pakistan continued trying to score and finally managed their second goal just a minute before the end of the match. However, New Zealand held their lead and secured a 6-2 victory to claim the title.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan had qualified for the final by defeating France 3-2 in a penalty shootout in the semi-final.
