The day commenced with special Eid prayers offered in mosques and open grounds, where large gatherings of worshippers prayed for unity, peace, and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah and the nation. Eid congregations are taking place in mosques, Eidgahs, and public spaces in cities and towns nationwide.
Religious scholars, in their sermons, emphasized the spiritual essence of Eid-ul-Fitr, highlighting values such as gratitude, compassion, and social harmony. The festival signifies the successful completion of a month of fasting, prayer, and self-discipline one of the core pillars of Islam.
Following the prayers, families and friends come together to celebrate the occasion. People dress in their finest clothes, visit loved ones, and exchange warm greetings of “Eid Mubarak.” The day is filled with joy, togetherness, and hospitality.
Acts of charity remain central to Eid celebrations. Muslims fulfill the obligation of Zakat-ul-Fitr by donating food or money to those in need, ensuring that everyone can partake in the festivities. Gift-giving is also a cherished tradition, especially for children, who happily receive Eidi.
