LAHORE: Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, held a cordial meeting with former PCB Chairman Dr. Naseem Ashraf, engaging in a wide-ranging discussion on cricket administration and institutional experience.

Naqvi shared details of the meeting via a post on X, noting: “Had a wonderful conversation with former Chairman PCB Dr. Naseem Ashraf. A gentleman of great insight and experience — there’s always so much to learn from him.”

The exchange marks a rare public interaction between current and past PCB leadership, reflecting Naqvi’s continued efforts to draw from institutional memory as the board navigates both domestic and international cricketing developments.

Dr. Naseem Ashraf, a seasoned bureaucrat and cricket administrator, served as PCB Chairman from 2006 to 2008 after being appointed by then-President Pervez Musharraf. He resigned in August 2008, just weeks before Pakistan was scheduled to host its first ICC Champions Trophy — a tournament that was later relocated due to security concerns. His tenure was marked by challenging decisions, including fallout from the forfeited Oval Test against England in 2006.
