Motorcycles now require fitness certificates, just like cars
After enforcing the requirement for private vehicles, the Punjab government has now made fitness certificates mandatory for motorcycles as well. Motorcycles will undergo a technical inspection, after which authorities will issue a one-year fitness certificate.
The Punjab Cabinet has approved amendments to the law to support this new requirement. The Transport Department is currently developing a strategy to implement the policy smoothly in the coming days.
Meanwhile, authorities have intensified their crackdown on public transport vehicles using LPG. They have formed special squads to inspect and take action at all major bus terminals across the province.
