Monsoon rains and storms predicted in Karachi from tomorrow

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has shared a weather advisory about the upcoming monsoon rains in Karachi. The forecast says that rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Karachi and nearby areas of Sindh from June 25 to June 28, though there may be some breaks in between.

The monsoon is expected to begin across the country from June 25 because of moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, along with a strong westerly weather system entering northern Pakistan. Karachi may see some light drizzle on June 24, and heavier rainfall is likely to start from June 25.

Between June 24 and June 26, the weather in Karachi will stay hot and humid with temperatures going up to 36°C. Winds from the sea will blow at around 10 km/h, and humidity will stay around 75%. The sky will be partly cloudy.

The PMD has warned that there is a risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi and Hyderabad between June 26 and June 28 because of heavy rainfall.

The forecast also mentions possible dangers like strong winds, lightning, damage to weak structures, power breakdowns, and traffic issues. People are advised to avoid going out during heavy rain, stay inside during thunderstorms, and keep checking official weather updates.
