Meghan Trainor gives insight o her body transformation: ‘I learn about health’

Meghan Trainor says her weight-loss journey began long before the public started questioning her transformation.
Speaking on KIIS FM, the singer explained that things shifted after she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
“Everyone’s just being like, like, ‘Why are you thin now?’ Like, ‘You were ‘All About That Bass’ girl.’ I was like, ‘I was 19 when I came out with that song,’” she said.
Trainor, now 31, recalled that the diagnosis pushed her to learn more about her body. “I’ve been on a fitness journey since I got healthy. And it started with when I was pregnant, I had gestational diabetes. And I was like, ‘Oh, I got to learn about health and fitness.’”
She explained that the shift was driven by her desire to stay strong for her children and maintain her ability to tour. “If I want to tour forever, I got to be at my strongest,” she said. “If I want to lift up my kids from their crib and not pull out my back.”
These days, Trainor says she’s “strength training three times a week in the gym” and is “focused on health.” She added, “Now I’m obsessed with like how’s my hormones? How’s my gut? Because I just want to feel good, because this job is hard to do if you don’t feel good.”
Despite her efforts, the singer admitted the criticism surrounding her slimmer appearance took a toll. “But I got a lot of hate for being thinner. So that confused me and rattled me.”
Earlier this year, Trainor shared that she began taking Mounjaro after her second pregnancy, alongside working with a dietician and trainer.
“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she said. “Yes, I used science and support… And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”
