Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star in steamy gothic romance

Fire, passion, and forbidden love are about to set cinemas ablaze this Valentine’s Day. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are poised to bring Emily Brontë’s timeless gothic romance to life in the daring 2026 film adaptation of “Wuthering Heights”, directed by Emerald Fennell.

Fans can expect a visually striking, intense, and boundary-pushing take on the classic tale, promising to captivate audiences worldwide.

The Warner Bros. teaser trailer, which dropped recently, gave viewers a taste of the stormy, erotic tension between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Jacob Elordi’s brooding portrayal of Heathcliff, shirtless in multiple shots, and Robbie’s Catherine navigating steamy embraces, has already sparked viral reactions on social media.

Fans likened the adaptation to “50 Shades of Brontë”, while others swooned over the chemistry and bold reinterpretation of the 1847 novel.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Robbie, 35, revealed how the film ventures far beyond the book’s original constraints. “They never really kissed in the book, but we kiss a lot. We kiss everywhere,” she admitted. “There are so many moments where he lifts me into a tree, or carries me with one hand. It feels incredible light as a feather, like a tiny little thing.”

Jacob Elordi, 28, stars as Heathcliff, embodying the passion, obsession, and darkness that define the character, while Robbie channels Catherine’s intensity, vulnerability, and defiance.

Director Emerald Fennell promises a cinematic experience that honors Brontë’s vision while giving it a contemporary, provocative edge.

Adding to the film’s allure, pop icon Charli XCX will contribute new original songs, intensifying the romantic and dramatic energy of the adaptation. The movie is scheduled for a wide release on February 13, 2026, perfectly timed for audiences seeking gothic romance and cinematic intensity on Valentine’s Day.
