
Major Rizwan Tahir among 3 soldiers martyred, 4 terrorists killed in Mastung attack, ISPR
Rawalpindi: Three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred when terrorists attacked a security forces’ vehicle with a roadside bomb (IED) in Mastung, Balochistan, on the night of August 5.
According to the military’s media wing, ISPR, the attack was carried out by terrorists linked to an Indian-backed group called Fitna al Hindustan.
The brave soldiers who lost their lives were Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (31 years old) from Narowal, Naik Ibni Amin (37 years old) from Swabi, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (33 years old) from Karak. Major Rizwan was known for his bravery and had taken part in many counter-terror operations. He always led his team from the front.
After the attack, the army immediately began a search operation in the area. During this action, four terrorists involved in the attack were killed. The operation is still ongoing to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The Pakistan Army has said that such attacks will not weaken their spirit, and the sacrifices of these brave men make their resolve even stronger. “We will continue to fight till every terrorist is eliminated,” the ISPR said.
