Mahreen Aziz’s legal advisor’s statement sparked

Karachi: K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi has been found guilty of harassment, and the decision has sparked significant reactions from the legal team and representatives of the complainant, Mahreen Zehra.

Barrister Talal Wasif Qavi, the legal counsel for the complainant, stated, “This decision confirms that a person who does not respect the dignity of the daughters of this nation is not fit to hold any public or private office.”

He emphasized that power and authority cannot protect misconduct, and that countless hardworking women across Pakistan silently endure harassment at their workplaces.

Mahreen Zehra’s spokesperson said, “This case proves that women no longer need to live in fear—justice is possible.”

Barrister Qavi further added that this ruling is a ray of hope for all those women who have been forced to remain silent. “We stand with all women who raise their voices, and our struggle will continue until respect, dignity, and safety are guaranteed in every workplace,” he stated.

It is important to note that the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh, Justice (R) Shah Nawaz Tariq, has ordered the immediate removal of Moonis Alvi from his position as CEO of K-Electric and has also imposed a fine of PKR 2.5 million.

According to the ruling, allegations of workplace harassment against Alvi were proven, leading to his dismissal and a directive to pay the fine within one month.
