
KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjhar visited the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi to assess the citywide security situation, monitoring systems, and arrangements of Hazrat Ali (RA) martyrdom day.
On arrival, Minister Lanjhar was welcomed by Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho and other senior police officials. Provincial Minister for Local Government, Nasir Hussain Shah, was also present.
During the visit, the Interior Minister inspected the Central Command and Control Center, where he received a briefing on ongoing citywide surveillance via CCTV cameras, crime prevention measures, and security protocols.
IG Sindh Odho informed him that modern technology is being used for continuous monitoring of various areas, and special security plans are in place for major religious events.
Minister Lanjhar highlighted that effective monitoring and timely preventive measures are crucial for maintaining law and order.
He praised the Sindh Police for fulfilling their professional duties efficiently and emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping the police with modern technology, tools, and training to better protect citizens’ lives and property.
He also stressed the importance of public trust in the police, noting that institutional capacities are being strengthened to ensure that confidence remains firm and unwavering.
Later, Minister Lanjhar inspected the routes of the central procession for Hazrat Ali (RA) and reviewed the security arrangements.
The Interior Minister was briefed in detail on police deployment, traffic management, surveillance systems, and other safety measures along the procession routes.
He expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and instructed authorities to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession.
Minister Lanjhar remarked that Hazrat Ali (RA) martyrdom day teaches patience, tolerance, and mutual respect, emphasizing that displays of unity and solidarity during such occasions are vital for social cohesion. He urged all communities to play a collective role in fostering interfaith harmony and religious tolerance.
Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the Sindh government is deploying all resources to ensure religious gatherings and processions are conducted peacefully. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement, administration, and religious leaders in maintaining exemplary discipline during major religious events. Shah also urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and take responsibility for upholding law and order.
Senior officials, including Additional IGs, DIGs of Headquarters, IT, Training, and other relevant departments, were present during the visit.
